Placement Request:
The placement request is a one to two page description of what you would like to do, where you would like to go, and why this is the right time in your life/career to participate in an international program.
Your placement request must be typed:
- Describe your "ideal placement". This is your chance to tell us what type of placement you would like. It is important to be as specific as possible.
- Indicate the earliest date you'd be available/interested in beginning your program.
- Indicate the number of months you'd like to be abroad.
- Provide the date that you must return home.
Questions to consider:
- What kind of placement would be best for you?
- What duties or responsibilities would you expect?
- What specific skills do you want to learn or improve?
- How do your current skills prepare you for this experience?
- What kinds of projects would you like to be involved in?
- How will this placement help you when you return to Ecuador?
After we have reviewed your resume and placement request we will contact you. If we have a program partner that can accept your application, we will send you their program-specific application materials to complete.
Please see the list of program partners for countries we work with. However, do not contact them directly, as they require applications and inquiries to come from Experience International.
Program Fees
- Program Fee: $500 paid when your placement is confirmed.
- Country Partner Fee: Some country partners may charge an inbound program fee. These vary from country to country and you'll be informed if there is a fee when you select the country you're interested in going to.
Finances and Insurance
- In most cases, participants receive wages or combination of stipend, room and board and the amount will vary by country, participant's background, and type of placement.
- Volunteer positions may also be available.
- Participants are responsible for international travel and misc. living expenses abroad.
- Health and travel insurance is required and in most cases can be purchased through the country partner.
- Applicants must understand that this is a program for gaining quality work experience abroad. If making money is your prime motivation, this is not the program for you. You will likely be able to recoup your expenses, but you can make more money by staying home.
