Thoroughbred Equine Exercise Riders (IMMEDIATE FILL)

Equine Internship (*specialty placement*)

Host: Unique equine internship program that exposes participants to thoroughbred breeding industry, including laboratory and academic lecturs on equine management, horse care, and barn ownership. This program is ideal for university students wishing to pursue a career in the field of equine management.

Start Date(s): January (Spring Internship) or June (Fall Internship)
- Spring Internship: 22 weeks – focuses on reproduction and breeding and the interns work primarily with broodmares and foals.
- Fall Internship: 24 weeks – concentrates on Sales and Marketing and early training of the equine athlete. Interns work primarily with yearlings but there is also some work with broodmares, weanlings and racing prospects.
- Wage: approx. $14.50/hour

- Host: California dairy farm with 680 milking, 75 dry cows, and approximately 800 replacement heifers/calves on 130acres of land.

- Open to *Male applicants only (due to housing availability)
- Previous related dairy and agricultural experience
